Business Development Manager, Regional Accounts



You are an outgoing and knowledgeable sales professional with a commitment to providing service excellence.  With your five years’ experience in sales you will provide our prospective and existing customers with a high level of business support as it relates to their food service needs. 

Your key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develops and maintains strong customer relationships.
  • Gathers market knowledge, identifies market opportunities and develops strategies to successfully on board new regional chain opportunities.
  • Develops new account business at Regional multi-site food operators.
  • Develops ongoing prospects to establish long-term business partnerships through internal and external information sources.
  • Generates sales growth through intelligent sales activities including territory planning, new client acquisition, client relationship building, territory prospecting, and marketing.
  • Makes contact with the appropriate management levels and decision makers within the potential client organization to propose and secure new Regional account agreements.
  • Participates in creation and execution of sales strategy and business plan development with Regional group
  • Develops and maintains strong cross functional relationships to ensure effective communication with other departments including marketing, warehousing, logistics and customer service within Flanagan.
  • Maintains analysis on large opportunities currently served by competition regarding agreement expiration dates, estimated spend, etc.


  • Minimum 5 years previous sales experience in the food service industry.
  • Experience in product knowledge with preference to those with culinary experience.
  • Successful at working independently with a sense of urgency, a high level of customer focus and attention to details.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), decision-making and issue resolution skills.    
  • Demonstrated successful experience with team selling and cross-functional or matrix management structures.
  • Must possess the ability to design, develop and write proposals.
  • Proficient computer skills, should be familiar with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Must have own vehicle and valid Ontario Driver’s license and be willing to use personal vehicle during the performance of his/her duties as required.
